The Opportunity

 

The role is structured in the Product Management department within Worldline’s Merchant Services which develops and manages our Global Collect product portfolio while the Merchant Integration team focusses on the user experience related to the integration into our platforms.

 

As technical writer you create client-facing documentation to make it as easy as possible for our clients to use our products and services. Most of our client-facing documentation is web based and concentrated on our documentation site https://docs.connect.worldline-solutions.com/. Next to producing and managing the content together with the subject matter experts, you are also responsible for improvements on the sites and tracking the usage data. This is done by tracking incoming feedback, monitor usage statistics and participating in user testing.    

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

 

  • You produce engaging high value content
  • You break down complex information into clear and easy-to-understand text
  • You align closely with stakeholders like product managers to assess which information our users will need and ensure it is correct
  • You use your skills as investigative reporter to hunt down the right pieces of information from various sources if needed
  • You use your editor skills on ‘ready-to-used content’ to make sure it fits with our style and meets the needs of different target audiences
  • You understand when plain text will explain a topic better and when an image is more appropriate; you work with our designers to create the right images, diagrams or animations
  • You work together with product managers, developers and designers to improve the content structure on the documentation site
  • You will establish new guidelines how to write texts for great clarity
  • You analyze the feedback provided by users as well as captured in our analytics tools, to improve the documentation

 

Who Are We Looking For

  • You have at least three years of experience in writing online documentation
  • You have excellent US English writing, editing, proofreading, and content structuring skills
  • You are well-organized and have a consistent working style with strong attention to detail
  • You have a drive to turn complex information into clear content
  • You have a basic understanding of SEO
  • You are curious, pro-active and not afraid to hunt for information
  • You understand that diagrams, animation, etc. should be used instead of long pieces of text
  • You are a team player and can easily connect with developers, product managers and designers
  • You communicate and collaborate well with people from diverse backgrounds
  • You are proactive and you like to take ownership and responsibility
