The opportunity
We are looking for a Team Lead to be heading one of our Credit Risk Management teams within the Credit Risk department consisting of several globally dispersed teams which have the end-to-end credit risk management responsibility at merchant and portfolio level. In this challenging role you will be at the core of our organization with a high level of exposure, contributing to the quality and high standards within Credit Risk and supporting Worldline’s growth and profitability by ensuring sustainable new and existing credit exposures and minimalization of credit losses. Besides your direct colleagues within Credit Risk you will work closely with various stakeholders such as Sales, Account Management, Legal and other Risk departments. This position is based in Sweden and we offer a hybrid way of working from home and at our Stockholm office.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead the CoE and manage a team of Credit Risk Experts, driving the ongoing professionalization of the department.
- Framework & Procedures: Develop, maintain, and optimize the merchant credit risk framework. Proactively assess and improve SOPs and working processes across Risk Operations (Underwriting, Onboarding, and Monitoring).
- Portfolio & Reporting: Oversee portfolio monitoring, KPI management, and comprehensive credit risk data analysis and reporting.
- Decisioning & Escalation: Manage complex credit escalations and provide final credit decisioning.
- Tooling & Innovation: Maintain ownership of credit risk tooling, including budget management and the identification of new functional requirements
Who are we looking for
- Experience: 5+ years of professional management in 1st/2nd line credit risk, with deep expertise in financial analysis, credit ratings, and risk management methodologies.
- Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
- Skills: Proven project management, data analysis, and reporting capabilities.
- Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Language: Full working proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Soft Skills: Result-oriented, diligent, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to excellence, and focus on operational simplicity.
- Industry Preference: Prior experience in the payment industry is highly valued.
