As an Internal Auditor based in Warsaw, you will lead and contribute to audits across functions, partner with colleagues worldwide, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal control environment. You will collaborate with teams in Europe, including France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Sweden, the UK, and the APAC region as needed. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Participate in audit missions planning and execution within Central & Assurance Function domains (Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Compliance, including local regulatory requirements) and lead ad-hoc investigations as requested by management.
- Draft, review, and present audit observations, root cause analyses, and actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor and track the closure of audit findings, ensuring timely remediation and sustainable control improvements.
- Participate in internal audit projects and initiatives which aim to continuously improve the audit process.
- Stay current on payments industry trends, regulatory developments, risk management practices, and external regulatory expectations; share knowledge with the team.
Who Are We Looking For
We seek experienced professionals who can lead, influence, and deliver. Ideal candidates demonstrate the ability to drive positive change, manage complex engagements, and grow within the audit function. In practice, this means:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Min. 4 to 6 years of professional experience preferably as an Internal Auditor or Audit within a Big4 is a plus, or within a similar role that entails analysis and visibility on Support functions and Compliance topics (e.g., Compliance Officer, Risk Manager, Internal Control,…).
- Proven track record in leading audit engagements from planning through reporting, including scoping, risk assessment, fieldwork, and remediation follow-up.
- Experience in a payments card industry or financially regulated entity is an advantage.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques; interest in artificial intelligence and analytics.
- Excellent reporting skills (oral and written) and be able to analyze and synthesize audit observations for management reporting.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English, and additional languages are a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a global setting.
- Ability to supervise and train junior team members.
- Strong teamwork orientation and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
