The Opportunity
As a Master in the High Risk Verticals Team, you are at the forefront of defining and implementing integrity risk measures, with a special focus on AML, KYC, regulatory requirements for emerging markets, and high-risk verticals like Gambling, Crypto, Dating, but also non-standard business models such as unlicensed platforms or complex groups requiring global processing. You'll play a key role in horizon scanning, identifying requirements, challenging existing approaches, and drafting procedures and work Instructions for the assigned verticals, bringing them to BAU-ready level, ensuring that the company and our merchants adhere to the highest standards of integrity risk management.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Accountable for assigned existing or emerging verticals and business models.
- Participate and Risk-led projects on strategic portfolio expansions: new/emerging markets and products offered by Worldline.
- Design Risk procedures & requirements for the assigned verticals and business models before handover in BAU, covering end to end processes, onboarding, periodic review, risk modeling rules, etc.
- Monitor, interpret, and implement all regulatory and payment schemes rules and updates, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed promptly.
- Facilitate training sessions for other internal stakeholders on SOP&WI before handing them over to BAU risk teams.
- Guide and oversee exceptional onboarding or periodic review processes executed by Risk Operations for current opportunities in assigned verticals and business models.
- Perform portfolio monitoring under assigned verticals and business models before handover to BAU risk teams.
- Define processes to be applied for the assigned verticals and business models to ensure oversight and control (including but not limited to AML factors / MCC or industry level).
- SPOC in engagements with 2nd Line teams (Local/Group Compliance, MRM, Scheme Licensing) for the assigned verticals.
- Horizon scanning to identify new trends in business models and emerging industry risks.
- Define a risk-based approach for assigned High-Risk Verticals Present and provide updates to Management & Regulators.
- Support outreach and engagement efforts with partners, flagship merchants, and the sales team, ensuring collaboration and alignment. Assist in the management, reporting and tracking of action lists for the team.
- Assist in the communication of statuses, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders, including progress reports, executive summaries, and presentations.
- Be an active part of a collaborative team environment.
What We Are Looking For

- You have a Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a related field.
- You have previous experience in risk management, compliance, or a related area within the acquiring/payment processing field.
- You have a deep understanding of various high-risk industry standards.
- You have a deep knowledge of various business models of payment aggregators/marketplaces and platforms.
- You understand AML regulations, payment schemes standards, and principles of transaction monitoring.
- You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and tactically, and a tendency towards a holistic approach to things.
- You can work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- You are a Team player with exemplary communication skills.
- You have excellent English communication skills.
