The Opportunity
Worldline is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in the payment industry. The primary responsibilities of the role will include data boarding, modeling, and transformation with Databricks on the Azure cloud as well as the administering and evolution of the Data Platform. In addition, the Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting and mentoring junior data engineers.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Designing and implementing data boarding, modeling, and transformation processes
- Administration of the Data Platform in Azure, ensuring its availability, reliability, and security
- Supporting and mentoring junior data engineers in their daily tasks and projects
- Working closely with the data architecture team to develop efficient and scalable data solutions
- Collaborating with other teams to gather and understand data requirements
- Managing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
- Continuously optimizing and improving data processes and performance
- Ensuring data availability, reliability, and scalability
- Staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies
Who Are We Looking For
We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in data engineering and analytics, specifically in the payment industry
- Proficiency in Big Data technologies, Spark, Python programming, Git, Business Intelligence, SQL, DevOps, CI/CD methodologies
- Hands-on experience with Databricks on the Azure cloud
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Good knowledge of English, both speaking and writing skills
