The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst to join the SEPA Tribe within our Processing & Financial Institutions division. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of SEPA payment processing solutions. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality payment services.
The SEPA Tribe is responsible for developing and maintaining SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) batch processing solutions that serve financial institutions across Europe. Our systems process millions of transactions daily, requiring exceptional attention to quality, compliance, and reliability.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for SEPA payment processing applications
- Conduct functional, integration, performance, and regression testing across payment platforms
- Identify, document, and track defects with clear severity and reproduction steps
- Collaborate with development teams to verify bug fixes and conduct retesting
- Build and maintain automated test suites for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Develop test automation scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks
- Optimize test execution efficiency and reduce manual testing overhead
- Ensure test data management and environment setup for automated testing
- Ensure testing aligns with regulatory requirements (PCI DSS, MiFID II, SEPA standards)
- Maintain detailed test documentation and traceability matrices
- Participate in test estimation and release readiness assessments
- Support compliance audits and external reviews of payment solutions
- Work in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams with developers, product owners, and operations
- Communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Participate in test planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Mentor junior testers and contribute to knowledge sharing
- Functional knowledge of SEPA payment flows
- Develop and execute performance and load testing scenarios
- Validate API and integration testing for payment processing systems
- Test payment gateway functionality, transaction routing, and settlement processes
- Identify and escalate critical issues affecting payment operations
Who Are We Looking For
We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:
- 3–5 years of software testing experience, with at least 2 years in payment systems or financial services testing
- Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of SOAP/REST APIs, SQL database queries, and log analysis
- Familiarity with payment processing workflows, SEPA standards, or financial transaction systems
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, or similar)
- English fluency (German a plus)
