The Opportunity : Senior .Net Developer 

 

We are seeking a dedicated Senior .Net Developer to join our dynamic team across Belgium. This role requires a skilled technical professional with strong interpersonal skills, capable of providing exceptional customer service while working independently and collaboratively with local teams. 

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​ :

 

  • Technical Contribution & Guidance: Contribute to complex technical implementations and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the squad. 

  • Architecture & Design Participation: Participate in architectural decisions for payment platform features as a team member, contribute to scalable .NET solution design, and provide input in technical strategy discussions while ensuring alignment with business goals and technical excellence. 

  • Advanced Development: Develop robust, high-performance eCommerce payment solutions using .NET technologies, implementing complex integrations, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and security requirements. 

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Lead Developer, Product Managers, QA teams, and DevOps engineers to deliver innovative payment solutions while serving as a technical liaison across teams. 

  • Quality Assurance & DevOps Integration: Champion quality practices, implement comprehensive testing strategies, and work with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Octopus Deploy) to ensure seamless deployment and monitoring. 

  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Analyze complex technical challenges, provide innovative solutions, and drive process improvements to enhance development efficiency and product quality. 

  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and share knowledge through team sessions and collaborative discussions. 

  • Production Support: Contribute to troubleshooting efforts for production issues, ensure system reliability, and implement monitoring solutions to prevent future incidents. 

 

Who Are We Looking For :

 

You are a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in enterprise-level applications and a proven track record of technical contribution. You possess the following qualities and qualifications: 

 

  • Technical Expertise: You have deep understanding of software development processes, architectural patterns, and modern development practices with extensive experience in complex system design and implementation : 10 years as .Net Deveveloper. 

  • Team Contributor: You have successfully contributed to development teams and technical initiatives in fast-paced environments, with ability to inspire and influence others to achieve technical excellence. 

  • Strategic Thinker: You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to assess complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions while considering long-term implications. 

  • Effective Communicator: You excel in communicating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and technical teams, ensuring alignment and transparency. 

  • Continuous Learner: You stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, actively seeking opportunities for professional growth and team development. 

  • Quality Advocate: You champion quality practices throughout the organization, driving initiatives that elevate engineering standards and promote best practices across teams. 

  • Customer-Centric Mindset: You understand the importance of delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and drive business value in the payment industry. 

  • You must be located in Belgium.

 

Must have : 

  • Ownership & Technical Responsibility: Strong sense of ownership and technical responsibility for team's software with ability to take accountability for technical decisions and their outcomes. 

  • Technical Excellence in .NET Core: Deep technical expertise in .NET Core and practices surrounding it, with ability to spread knowledge and best practices within the team. 

  • Agile Experience: Basic understanding of SCRUM methodology and participation in backlog construction, refinement, and sprint planning to help estimate and plan work items effectively. 

  • Standards & Guidelines Development: Experience contributing to the development of organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for software development across teams. 

  • Complex System Design: Proven experience in software design in complex, high throughput, real-time, and zero-downtime contexts aligned with architectural guidelines and documented precisely. 

  • Quality Assurance: Ensures team software respects functional and non-functional requirements (Security, Performance, Resilience, etc.) with comprehensive testing approaches. 

  • DevOps Expertise: Advanced experience with DevOps tooling and practices including CI/CD pipelines, Git, 4-eyes principle, and canary releases for reliable software delivery. 

  • Troubleshooting Excellence: Extensive experience troubleshooting complex systems in case of bugs, incidents, or test result failures with systematic problem-solving approach. 

  • Architecture & APIs: Strong experience with SOA and API contract definitions, preferably in a microservices architecture context with understanding of distributed systems. 

  • Testing Automation: Experience with testing techniques and automation such as BDD, TDD, enabling design of test cases covering complex or non-functional test scenarios. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Strong continuous improvement mindset with focus on process optimization and team development. 

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Experience making data-driven and fact-based technical decisions, ensuring their application within the team and sharing experience with peers in other teams. 

 

Nice to have 

  • Database Technologies: Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems such as MS SQL Server and Cassandra or equivalents. 

  • Messaging Systems: Experience with queuing technologies such as RabbitMQ or equivalent messaging solutions. 

  • CI/CD Tooling: Experience with GitLab, GitLab CI, and Octopus Deploy or equivalent CI/CD tooling and deployment automation. 

  • Product Design Participation: Experience in participation of product design, from technicalities to functional alternatives and user experience considerations. 

  • Innovation Projects: Experience in innovation projects or hack days within the team to drive technical advancement and team engagement. 

  • Performance Optimization: Experience troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, providing solutions, and deriving best practices for system optimization. 

  • Monitoring & Alerting: Experience with Kibana, Grafana, and PagerDuty or equivalent monitoring, logging, and alerting tools. 

  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with infrastructure as code platforms and managing assets such as VMs, Proxy, Load Balancer, etc. 

  • ITIL Processes: Experience with basic ITIL processes such as Change, Incident, and Problem management for operational excellence.
