About the team
As part of the reorganisational journey a new finance department is formed in Worldline Services Australia. Newly established finance role (Two-year contract with potential to extend) responsible for driving accurate financial performance, ensuring robust governance and compliance as well as enabling data-driven commercial decisions.
Your mission
As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a vital role within our high-calibre team, supporting the integrity of our financial reporting by maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to comprehensive month-end close processes. You will work across a broad range of activities including general ledger management, transactional accounting, tax preparation and audit support.
Reporting jointly to the local Head of Finance and the European Group GSF Leader, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting function. Your diligence and technical skills will be a key component of our commitment to accurate and compliant financial governance. You will contribute to process improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
Day-to-day responsibilities
General Ledger & Daily Operations
- Prepare and process month-end journal entries including accruals, manual entries and posting of daily, month-end into SAP to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger.
- Record bank statements on a daily basis including comprehensive reconciliation and clearing activities to maintain accurate cash position reporting.
- Submit month-end data and ensure year-end audits in relation to general ledger are completed on a timely basis with supporting documentation.
- Oversee monthly transactional accounting ensuring quality delivery and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Financial & Statutory Reporting
- Perform timely and accurate reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving any discrepancies with precision and thoroughness.
- Prepare comprehensive IFRS16 entries, fixed assets entries, depreciation calculations and reconciliations to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare GST preparation, FBT preparation, and Tax Return declarations ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other regulatory reports as required, maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the month and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of detailed supporting schedules and comprehensive analyses.
Audit Support & Process Enhancement
- Provide comprehensive assistance during the external audit process by preparing necessary information and responding promptly to auditor queries with detailed documentation.
- Identify and actively participate in process improvement projects that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across accounting functions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
Who are we looking for
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role, either in a commercial environment or from a public practice background.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and database management with proven ability to handle complex financial data and analysis.
- Extensive experience with SAP and large-scale ERP or accounting systems with daily operational proficiency.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and skills with solid understanding of accounting principles and standards (AASB/IFRS).
- Proven experience with general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and comprehensive financial reporting processes.
- Extensive experience in tax preparation including GST, FBT, and corporate tax return processes.

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field.
- CA/CPA qualified or recognised equivalent professional financial accounting qualification.
