The Opportunity
You are responsible to maintain and change the complex infrastructures needed to run the services of Account Payments across all product areas. As Senior Application Manager, you are involving subject matter experts of Account Payments as well as from other units of Worldline to guaranty a stable and well performing infrastructure. Maintaining both stability of the daily business and driving future optimizations are the key focus areas. The position asks for a professional technical expert acknowledging the criticality of the business for the customer.
The bandwidth of the needs skillset covers the entire technology stack around data center operations as well as communication with various stakeholders and supplies, both and internal and external to WL.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Main responsibility is to manage and change the infrastructure capabilities needed to run the Account Payments products for the various clients in all serviced geographies. Other tasks and responsibilities are:
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of critical applications, including planning, design, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement to ensure high availability and performance.
- Manage cross-functional teams and external vendors, aligning delivery with business goals, budgets, timelines, and risk management.
- Define and govern application roadmaps, technical standards, and governance processes; own release management, change control, and incident response.
- Drive service reliability and operational excellence through metrics, SLAs, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and proactive problem management.
- Mentor and develop teams, foster collaboration with stakeholders, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Who Are We Looking For

- You have at least 15 years experience in managing complex infrastructures, especially in managing the needed infrastructure stack of Account Payments for the Payments 2.0 platform and underlying hard- and middleware
- You have deep knowledge in ORACLE DBMS. You understand a complex data model and you know how to analyze performance of an Oracle DB and find bottlenecks. You are able to implement/optimize SQL statements and to write PL/SQL packages/functions/procedures.
- You have deep knowledge in LINUX and shell script writing
- You are able to (at least) read Java programming language code and support development in bug fixing and optimization of the code
- You have technical architect skills to support software development
- You have proven your ability to work in a complex business environment as vital part of the value chain of clients in the financial industry
- You have organizational talent, high own initiative, high conflict ability and analytical skills
- You have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
