The Opportunity

 

We are seeking an experienced SRE Engineer to join our dynamic team in Belgium. You will be part of T&O CLS-Core Infra Engineering department and reporting to the SRE Team Leader. We are looking for a person who will differentiate our company from its competitors. You will be joining Worldline, a company in full transition to a new era of payments, covering hardware, software and services as tooling for merchants to grow their business. Within the advanced infrastructure, your mission as sysadmin engineer in the SRE teams will be to enforce the scalability, speed, efficiency and the infrastructure reliability, as a result of owning the services design, implementation and maintenance.
Under the guidance of the SRE manager, your primary role is doing engineering on software and systems to build at a scale an automated infrastructure and fault tolerance PaaS.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

 Infrastructure services are managed by multiple teams, you will join one of these
teams with today's focus on:

  • Building and scaling our virtualization stack on VMware.
  • Scaling and automating the Block storage for our datacenters based on SAN technology.
  • Making sure the backup strategy is covering all needed assists and the internal clients can consume it.
  • Driving the Hardware management so we scale up in time and stay cost efficient, be
    the reference point for the hands-on teams in the datacenter.
  • Making sure the NTP service is up and can be consumed by all platforms as this is a
    business critical service.
  • Building and scaling the HSM service for all payment platform.
  • Taking part in the IAM automation.

  •        Academic or Bachelor level of education or equivalent by experience
  •       Minimum of 3-5 years of Linux experience in a HA environment

  •       Ability to make your way through a complicate stack autonomously
  •        Automation is your answer to (almost) everything
  •       Open source enthusiast (but not only)

Your favorite books are:

 


Must Have :

  • Excellent knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix, HyperV, Openstack etc; Storage; Hardware; Backup; NTP
  • Used to work with source version control like Git, GitLab, GIT flows and CICD
  • Used to work with Puppet (we do almost-everything with puppet)
  • Used to work with Terraform (we aim that all pieces of infra is defined with code)
  • Excellent knowledge of Scripting (powershell / puppet / CICD ./ Python / GO / JASON /
    HIERA)
  • Understanding of network protocol (IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, Load balancing,...)
  • Experience with multi DC setup and large Vmware clusters (in different countries)
  • Experience with hybrid infra (On prem + cloud)
  • Experience with AWS (Workspace, ) and Azure
  • Experience with security standards (PCI-DSS,...)
  • Focus on automation

 

 

Nice to have :

  • Experience with ELK
  • Knowledge of GO
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • Familiar with service discovery in a micro-frontend architecture
  • Used to work with Windows and Linux servers
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French are a plus
