Head of IFRS norms (F/M)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled financial who will be in charge of guiding the Worldline group to report its financial results in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and to advise on structuring business transactions such to optimally contribute to the financial results.

In this role you’ll report to the Group Head of Consolidation & Norms.

 

About the team

Consolidation & Norms is responsible for the Worldline group financial reporting process. It prepares the mother companies financial reports and directs and facilitates the group companies accounting functions to contribute effectively, timely and efficiently.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

  • You monitor changes in rules, regulations, interpretations and jurisprudence in expertise fields which could impact the groups financial reporting, like IFRS, tax and civil code.
  • You maintain the group accounting policies.
  • You advise on how to structure major business transactions in order to optimally fit the financial effects to Worldline group strategy.
  • You advise Worldline top financial management on the accounting for major events impacting the group’s financials.
  • You educate Finance professionals on applying the group accounting policies.
  • You provide 2nd line consultancy to material and non-routine accounting matters (1st line consultancy is provided by Global Business Lines and local accounting experts)
  • On behalf of the group, you discuss major and non-routine accounting positions with auditors and their professional practices experts.

As a successful IFRS consultant you enable compliant financial reporting that facilitates the group to achieve its strategy

  • Accounting positions taken on your recommendation are accepted by the external auditors.
  • Stakeholders at all levels within the group benefit from your ability to understand business restrictions and opportunities, and to identify structuring options that allow an accounting treatment in line with financial strategy.
  • Auditors and sr. management recognize your authority as IFRS expert.

  • You've got a deep understanding of accounting principles and IFRS standards
  • You are a great conceptual thinker of excellent academic level
    • You can translate complex and ambiguous realities in manageable case descriptions
    • You can translate abstract rules to practical guidance in specific situations
    • You can consider complex problems from multiple points of view
    • You can make judgments in ambiguous situations.
  • You are a good communicator:
    • You treat your dialogue partner with respect and understanding
    • You can carefully listen to explanations of various stakeholders, summarize and continue to ask questions until you understand the real problem and interests behind a position
    • You can understand diverging interests and positions of various stakeholders and propose integrated win-win solutions
    • You can clearly explain complex matters to lay persons
  • Motivation and passion for making a difference within hectic business deadlines
  • Very good proficiency of the English language
  • Relevant experience in discussing IFRS positions between auditors and auditees
  • >5 years of work experience

 

Skills we'd like:

It would be great if you have the following skills, too:

  • University education in Finance
  • You have a good understanding of the payments industry
  • Understanding of tax and civil code legislation is a plus
  • Knowledge of other Worldline relevant languages (notably French and German) is a plus.
