The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of automated tests for our web, SQL, REST, and SOAP-based financial systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with the project team to define and implement a new test automation tech stack and strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable software solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project team project team to develop and implement a new test automation tech stack and strategy for our financial systems.
• Design, create, and maintain automated test scripts for web, SQL, REST Assured, and SOAP-based applications.
• Integrate automated tests into the software development lifecycle and continuous integration processes.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure thorough test coverage and high-quality software solutions.
• Identify, analyse, and report on test results, defects, and trends to drive improvements in the software development process.
• Continuously research and stay current on the latest trends and advancements in test automation technology and best practices.
• Train and mentor team members in test automation techniques and tools.

Essential & Technical Competencies:

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with automation frameworks and libraries such as Selenium, Robot Framework
• Experience in designing and developing automated tests for payment industry and banking applications
• Advanced user experience in Linux and Windows operating systems
• Experience with API testing, integration testing and XML-file processing
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
• Experience with performance testing tools
• Experience in designing and building automation testing framework for microservices hosted on GCP/AWS or similar could platform
• Experience in tools such as Git, JIRA, confluence.

• Good analytic skills, good comprehension and abstraction capability
• Good experience working on Databases Oracle: SQL Queries, Joins, Views etc.
• Good understanding of Tomcat, Tuxedo, GPG
• Understanding of HTML, XML, XSLT file format
• Understanding of different file encodings (ASCII, UTF8 etc.)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in test automation with a focus on web, SQL, REST, and SOAP-based systems.
• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks, tools, and best practices.

• Mindset for quality.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with various software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (Optional)
• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level - Test Automation Engineer (optional)

• This position is for P3 Grade 11.
