The Opportunity

Cloud DevOps Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud DevOps Architect to join our M2C (Move to Cloud) Squad. This team plays a critical role in driving our organization's cloud migration initiative, overseeing the transformation of our infrastructure and applications to cloud-native environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions, automation, and observability practices for the application team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams ensuring the reliability, security, performance, scalability, durability of the cloud solutions adopted. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and experience in designing and implementing observability solutions.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute cloud migration strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

• Design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to meet business requirements.

• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software

development lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure cloud-native application.

• Help design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment

processes across cloud platforms, ensuring scalability and reliability for solutions including but not limited to microservices.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and

Ansible/Puppet/Chef or equivalent for configuration.

• Implement monitoring, troubleshooting, logging, and alerting solutions for the application team to

optimize and ensure the reliability, performance and cost-efficiency of cloud-based systems while

incorporating observability principles.

• Implement security best practices for cloud environments, including identity and access management

(IAM), network security, and data encryption.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and application

performance.

• Automate deployment pipelines, data synchronization, and cutover activities to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition to the cloud.

• Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on DevOps, cloud migration, and observability topics.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud computing, DevOps, and

related fields.

• Help application team manage service availability and immediate resolution of issues without

dependency.

 

Who Are We Looking For

• University (bachelor/master) degree in Computer Science and equivalent.

• Experience in a leading Cloud Solution Architecture and delivering move to cloud migration production grade activities with DevOps practices.

• Additional hands-on past experience in multiple roles including but not limited to Development/Support, Operations, architecting applications workloads.

• The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering successful cloud migration projects.

• Experience with migration of a monolith applications to microservices architecture.

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools like Puppet/Ansible or equivalent.

• Hands-on experience with designing, building, deploying and maintaining workloads using containerization technologies and container orchestration platforms.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools from GCP and such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

• Proficiency in scripting, programming and automation using languages like Python, PowerShell, Bash and equivalent.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines tools and DevOps practices including at least one major production implementation.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Certifications such as Google PCA.

• Experienced with DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins/GitLab/equivalent, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory

• Have background on application development on stacks like java, csharp .net, RDBMS/NoSQL databases.

• Comfortable with Linux administration and troubleshooting OS level access and application level configuration issues for both containerized as well as non-containerized workloads.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile development teams.

• Understanding of ITIL practices and principles.

• Languages: English
