Engineering Delivery Lead (M/F)

This is Worldline

The solutions our people build today power the growth of millions of businesses tomorrow. From your local coffee shop to unicorns and international banks. From San Francisco to Auckland. We are in every corner of the world, in every part of commerce. And just as we help our customers accelerate their business, we are committed to helping our people accelerate their careers. Together, we shape the evolution.

The Opportunity

The Core Foundation & Integration Tribe (CFI) implements and delivers the Card Issuing core applications, from Card Issuing lifecycle to Transactions clearing & settlement. With over 150 million cards and 1.16 billion monthly transactions, our platforms operate at the forefront of capacity and performance.

We are looking for a passionate and pragmatic technical leader to take the helm of several of our core development squads. Your mission is simple but essential: to accelerate the delivery of high-quality software. You will be the engine of performance, the guarantor of technical excellence, and the dedicated coach for our engineers.

This is not a distant management role. We need a leader who is on the ground, obsessed with continuous improvement, and who enjoys turning complex challenges into elegant, working software solutions. You will be the critical connection between product vision and technical execution, with direct responsibility for your teams' success.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Own the successful, predictable, and timely delivery of the roadmap for multiple agile squads, removing impediments and optimizing workflows.
  • Oversee software architectural and design decisions within your teams, ensuring the scalability, security, and maintainability of the solutions being built.
  • Serve as the direct manager for the engineers in your squads. You will be responsible for their coaching, career growth, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Champion and foster a culture of technical excellence, pragmatism, and ownership, where quality is everyone's responsibility
  • Lead the charge in implementing DevOps and Agile best practices to improve velocity, quality, and deployment frequency.
  • Act as the primary communication bridge between your squads, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment.
  • Track and act on key delivery metrics (e.g., Lead Time, Cycle Time, Deployment Frequency, Change Fail Rate) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Actively collaborate with other technical leaders to manage cross-squad dependencies and ensure smooth integration.

Who Are We Looking For

We look for people who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

  • 5+ years of proven experience directly managing multiple software engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • An engineering background with credible, hands-on expertise in modern software architecture (e.g., microservices), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and DevOps principles.
  • An obsession with the efficiency of a Software Factory and a deep, practical understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • A demonstrated passion for developing people, with concrete examples of how you have grown engineers from junior to senior levels.
  • The ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and to effectively advocate for your teams' needs.
  • A pragmatic, action-oriented leader with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for your teams' results.
  • A strong ability to understand business needs and collaborate effectively with the business to translate requirements into actionable technical plans.
  • You lead through your technical credibility, vision, and ability to inspire your teams, not just through formal authority.
  • You are comfortable making tough technical and organizational decisions, using data and experience to guide your judgment.
  • Full professional proficiency in English is required for our international environment. Proficiency in French is a significant plus

Shape the evolution

We are on an exciting journey towards the next frontiers of payments technology, and we look for big thinkers, people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. With an empowering culture, strong technology and extensive training opportunities, we help you accelerate your career - wherever you decide to go.
