Responsibilities:
Overview Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, containerize with Docker, and manage cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) using general IaC concepts and automation to accelerate releases.
- Build and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, GitLab runners, and GitOps workflows - Automate build and test stages; integrate with GitLab - Apply infrastructure as code concepts and automation patterns to provision/manage cloud resources with vendor-neutral tooling - Deploy/manage cloud services (e.g., GKE, Cloud Build, IAM) and integrate with CI/CD - Containerize applications, optimize Dockerfiles/images; leverage Red Hat Universal Base Image (UBI) where applicable - Develop Python (preferred) or Bash scripts to automate tasks and monitoring - Integrate secret management using Secret Manager tools (e.g., Google Cloud Secret Manager, HashiCorp Vault) for secure credentials in pipelines; manage secret rotation - Include code coverage workflows using gcov (C/C++) in CI; generate reports and feed into quality gates (and optionally SonarQube) - Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure, reliable releases
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong CI/CD principles; hands-on experience designing/maintaining pipelines - GitLab CI/CD expertise (pipelines, runners, GitOps) - Scripting in Python (preferred) or Bash - General knowledge of IaC concepts and best practices (vendor-neutral) - Cloud experience (ideally GCP) with relevant services - Docker/containerization expertise and image optimization; UBI knowledge a plus - Experience with secret management tools (GCP Secret Manager, Vault) and gcov for code coverage in CI/CD
Nice-to-Have:
- Puppet or Ansible - Artifact/Container Registry tools (Artifactory/Harbor) - SonarQube for code quality - Prometheus/Grafana for monitoring and observability
