The opportunity

Worldline is looking for a Linux System Engineer to join our competence centre that will support our MS Production Centres Merchant and acquiring services, issuing, digital services and account payments in their Liunx server environment.

As a member of the infrastructure team you will be strongly involved in maintaining the linux server landscape and keep the security on a high level.

You will play a crucial role in the installation, configuration and management of our Linux servers with our standard tools like Katello, Foreman and Puppet.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include

• Operation, patch management and monitoring of the Linux server environment
• Know how of deployment automation and configuration management using Puppet and Foreman
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to coordinate on IT policies
• Linux Server Hardening for PCI compliance
• Monitoring the landscape with Prometheus and Icinga2

You will contribute to the stability and robustness of our production. You will demonstrate the ability to understand the requirements, prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.

You will show you can work in full autonomy but teaming with your colleagues of the competence centre and in close collaboration with the international production centres teams.

We are looking for

• Master or Bachelor degree in IT, Electronics or Industrial Engineering
• Good knowledge and experience with alerting and monitoring tools like Icinga, Grafana, PagerDuty, Prometheus or others
• Broad understanding of following technologies:
  • Development and scripting tools like Unix shell; Python;
  • OS: RedHat Linux, maybe Windows;
  • DB: Oracle
  • Networking and security principles (TLS, DNS, firewalls, HTTP, , …);
  • Configuration management using Puppet

Skills we can't do without:

• Fluent in English
• Deep knowledge in RedHat Linux
• Experience in  IT and application support within a large company and complex sector  (ex: payments or other digital industry)
