The Opportunity
We are looking for a Sourcing Category Manager. Reporting hierarchically to the CFO of Worldline Merchant Services Italia and functionally to the Group Head of Procurement, the candidate will be integrated in the Finance Department Team, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving cost reductions through strategic upstream sourcing and category management within our digital payments ecosystem. You'll be part of a dynamic team of professionals, focusing on delivering measurable value through innovative sourcing strategies. This key figure ensures efficiency, cost optimization and quality of supplies for all areas of the company, working autonomously, with a proactive approach and a wide collaboration with all the other Company’s department.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies and category management for assigned spend areas in Italy
- Lead cost optimisation initiatives to achieve measurable savings and drive P&L improvements. Analyze and monitor procurement expenditures to identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality. Contribute to procurement budgeting and monitor compliance.
- Build and manage supplier relationships, conduct market mapping, and perform supplier evaluations and negotiations
- Align with internal stakeholders to ensure strategies meet business needs and deliver value
- Define and refine sourcing approaches to attract suppliers with the right focus and expertise
- Supplier Search and Selection: Identify, evaluate and qualify new suppliers nationally and internationally based on cost, quality, reliability and sustainability criteria. Maintain an up-to-date database of qualified suppliers and their performance.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, punctuality, service and contractual compliance. Conduct periodic reviews of performance to identify opportunities for improvement or renegotiation.Resolve any issues related to deliveries, service quality, or discrepancies from contractual statuiotions.
- Internal Relations Management: Actively collaborate with various business departments to understand their needs and ensure appropriate supplies. Provide internal support and advice on procurement-related issues.
Who Are We Looking For
We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to lear.. In practice this means:
- You have a Master’s degree in Management Engineering, Finance, Economics or any other related field in the role of Procurement Officer, with proven autonomy in managing the entire purchasing process. Experience in a lean structure or a versatile role is a plus.
- Approximately 5 years of experience in sourcing and/or category management
- Demonstrated ability to achieve cost reductions through strategic cost optimisation initiatives
- Strong capability to operate in an upstream sourcing context and influence stakeholders effectively
- Italian market experience or strong capability to work successfully in Italy
- Ability to merge sourcing and category management into one role whilst shifting focus away from traditional procurement tasks
- Excellent knowledge of negotiation and contracting techniques.
- Strong familiarity with procurement ERP/management systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Office package, particularly Excel (for data analysis and reporting).Analytical Skills: Skill in analyzing supplier data, costs, and performance.
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken) for international supplier relations.
