The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Engineer to join our Android mobile development team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their skills in mobile application testing within an Agile Scrum environment. As a vital part of our team, you will work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality Android applications that provide exceptional user experiences. Supporting quality assurance from early development stages to release, you will contribute to creating reliable, user-friendly mobile solutions that meet our standards for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Scrum team to understand features and acceptance criteria
- Review user stories and contribute to writing test cases and test scenarios
- Perform manual functional, UI, and regression testing of Android mobile applications
- Document and report bugs clearly using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
- Validate bug fixes and perform exploratory testing during sprints
- Support the creation and maintenance of comprehensive test documentation
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure quality processes
- Provide feedback on app usability, performance, and stability for continuous improvement
- Support and contribute to test automation initiatives over time
Requirements
- Basic understanding of software testing principles and SDLC
- Familiarity with Android mobile applications and testing practices
- Exposure to Agile Scrum practices (via internships, coursework, or work experience)
- Ability to write clear test cases and report defects effectively
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile testing tools (e.g., Android Studio, Charles Proxy, Firebase)
- Familiarity with test management tools like TestRail or Zephyr
- Basic knowledge of test automation (e.g., Espresso, Appium)
- Understanding of Agile methodology beyond basic exposure
