Day-to-Day Responsibilities

 

As Data Protection Officer and Ethics Compliance Officer, You are familiar with legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. You will operate locally while in an international environment and work closely with both Data Protection and Ethics Compliance teams within MS/Group Compliance as well as with various teams in the organization (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales…).

 

Your responsibilities as DPO

 

  • You monitor compliance with data protection legislation.
  • You monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.
  • You assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible DP Compliance Risks.
  • You develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of GDPR regulations, assess and proceed to investigations of potential inappropriate rules or procedures.
  • You maintain a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all requests/complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies and procedures.
  • You provide guidance, advice, and act as visionary towards the business regarding compliance by design and strive for the implementation of best practices and methodologies across critical areas of the business.
  • You review the Art. 30 Register of Processing Activities (RoPA) as set intervals, and ensure that it is up-to-date, accurate and complete.
  • You handle Data Subject Requests in accordance with set procedures and within the specified timeline.
  • You perform or supervise the business in the performance of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) to determine mitigating measures relevant to the risk level.
  • You provide regular data protection-related training of regulations and company procedure updates to staff. Provide advice and/or training (internal training) to the business and to the Board of Directors.
  • You maintain contacts with Supervisory Authorities and act as the point of contact on issues relating to processing of personal data, including prior consultation as specified in Art. 36 of the GDPR.

 

Your responsibilities as Ethics/ABC[1] Compliance Officer:

 

  1. Primary Contact & Advisory Function:

• Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all compliance-related matters, including anti-corruption, business partner due diligence, conflict of interest management, gifts and hospitality protocols, and whistleblowing procedures

• Provide strategic guidance and advisory support to senior management and cross-functional teams on compliance matters and regulatory requirements

 

  1. Policy Implementation & Risk Management:

• Lead the implementation and deployment of global ethics and anti-corruption policies in accordance with Worldline Code of Ethics and regulatory requirements

• Conduct comprehensive corruption risk assessments and support third-party risk evaluation processes to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance exposures

 

  1. Ethics Alert System & Investigation Management:

 • Oversee all aspects of the ethics alert system (Integrity Line), ensuring proper case management, investigation procedures, and resolution protocols

 • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to address compliance alerts effectively and transparently

 

  1. Training & Awareness Programs:

 • Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance training programs to ensure high engagement rates and regulatory adherence

• Foster a strong compliance culture through awareness initiatives and promote knowledge sharing across the organization

 

  1. Regulatory Monitoring & Policy Development:

• Monitor evolving legal and regulatory landscapes, assess potential impacts on business operations, and update internal policies accordingly

 • Maintain a comprehensive legal register and ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes

 

  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:

• Collaborate effectively with various departments including HR, Legal, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Finance to ensure integrated compliance approach

• Provide regular, comprehensive reporting on compliance activities, risk exposures, and mitigation strategies to senior management and relevant committees

 

  1. Group Compliance Coordination:

• Facilitate coordination of group-wide compliance activities and provide guidance and support to local stakeholders when needed

• Ensure consistency in compliance standards and practices across the legal entities under your scope.

 

  1. Audit & Remediation Oversight:

• Stay informed of regulatory and internal audit inspection findings within scope of responsibility

• Ensure identified gaps and recommendations are appropriately addressed through structured remediation plans and follow-up activities

Skills we can’t do without: 

  • University degree.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, Law 4624/2019, ePrivacy.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in privacy and data protection compliance in the financial sector
  • Experience in a bank or payment industry environment.
  • Knowledge of the payment industry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Affinity with IT and IT-related projects and ecommerce.
  • Results driven and persistent.
  • Multicultural mindset and flexibility, able to work in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, Greek, both verbally and written.
  • Adequate knowledge of standard IT applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint…)
