The Opportunity
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, launching, and maintaining off-the-shelf applications. You will create high-level and low-level design documents for databases and work closely with both internal and external developers to establish coding standards and best practices.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create and execute against a plan to develop, launch, and maintain off-the-shelf applications.
- Create High-Level Design (HLD) & Low-Level Design (LLD) documents for databases.
- Review project objectives and determine the best technology for implementation.
- Collaborate with internal and external developers to establish code standards and best practices, ensuring adherence.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in business processes, system capabilities, and delivery methodologies.
- Provide ongoing expertise to operational support groups to address application problems/issues, supporting root cause analysis.
- Strategically think and execute successfully.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written forms, presenting work to technical and non-technical audiences.
Who Are We Looking For

- 5-6 years of relevant experience in database development.
- Proficient in pgAdmin, PostgreSQL, Oracle 12g/10g, PL/SQL, SQL PLUS, TOAD, SQLLOADER, and SQL Developer.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL development (preferred).
- Expertise in database functions, indexes, table partitioning, collections, materialized views, query rewrite, and transportable table spaces.
- Experience in developing complex database objects such as stored procedures, functions, exception handling, packages, and triggers using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with performance tuning for RDBMS using Explain Plan and HINTS.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of unit testing methodologies.
- Good grasp of OOP concepts with hands-on experience in multithreading, collections, and data structures.
- Understanding of database design concepts.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL support for JSON.
- Strong knowledge of ETL concepts.
- Expertise in time-series databases.
