As a Database Administrator, you'll be at the forefront of transforming data into actionable insights, serving as the expert in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other database technologies. Your role will be crucial in maintaining and securing our databases, providing 24x7 support for critical systems, and ensuring compliance with data retention policies. You'll collaborate with IT teams to integrate databases seamlessly, refine and automate processes, and document every detail meticulously. Additionally, you'll mentor team members and stay ahead of emerging technologies, making impactful recommendations. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

 

 

  • Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and other database technologies.
  • Provide 24x7 operational support for all critical production systems
  • Monitor and maintain the health, security, and integrity of the databases, including regular backups, updates, and patching.
  • Develop and implement data retention and archiving policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the integration of databases with other systems and applications.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Document database configurations, procedures, policies and troubleshooting steps
  • Mentoring and educating team members on new tools , technologies and processes
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption.

 

 

 

Who Are We Looking For

  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and  effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • You have proficiency in SQL and have vast experience with various relational database management systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server , Postgres).
  • You have ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
  • You are motivated and have passion for learning and implementing new technology platforms
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance and security issues.
  • You master all new technologies and tools with great ease
  • You have 15-18 years of proven working experience as a Senior Database Manager or a similar role with a deep understanding of database management systems and concept
