ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions is a joint venture between ANZ Banking Group and Europe’s leading payment technology company, Worldline.

We launched in Australia in early 2022, providing in-store and ecommerce payment solutions to around 60,000 Australian businesses. Since then we’ve built a new modern technology platform to enable an exciting roadmap of products and solutions that we began launching in Australia in 2023 and continues to develop.

The Opportunity

Do you know how to navigate domestic and global regulatory and schemes requirements? Do you know how Visa, Mastercard and Australian Payments Plus (AP+) tick? We are looking for an experienced person to manage our schemes commercial relationships.

Your expertise in the schemes and payments landscape will ensure we are best positioned to support our customers and their changing needs. You’ll understand the opportunities of rapidly growing scheme models like payment facilitators and marketplaces, and you’ll develop our capability to support these alternative merchant models in a commercially beneficial and scheme compliant manner. You’ll be the go-to for scheme stats and figures – volumes, costs, transaction mix.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Together with the Head of Payment Schemes, defining the strategic direction for relationships with domestic and global schemes. You’ll be working with partners like Visa, Mastercard, Australian Payments Plus (AP+), UnionPay International, American Express, JCB, Alipay and WeChat… to drive the best value for ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions and our customers.
  • Managing relationships with the schemes, service providers and internal teams to drive better value for the business and our customers – supporting new products, understanding costs and solving issues.
  • Analyzing and reporting on scheme costs and value to internal stakeholders. You’ll work closely with the Pricing and Data team, underpinned with your intimate understanding of the scheme fee drivers. You’ll develop an improvement pipeline of activities to deliver cost optimization for ANZ Worldline and our customers  
  • Collaborating with product management, operations and sales organizations to support the schemes and the Worldline organization with product, marketing and sales activities
  • Contributing to strategic projects

 

Required skills and experience

  • Strategic thinker and a team player with an amicable personality and positive attitude
  • A deep know-how of the payments industry, scheme compliance knowledge or previous scheme management experience.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to understand scheme fee drivers and develop forecast models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to convey complex issues to cross-functional audiences as well as good presentation skills
  • Proven track record in relationship management, strategic partner management or business development, ideally in the payments or financial services industry
  • You know the drill of working cross-country and -continent with cross-cultural teams
