Our technology supports the growth of millions of businesses across five continents. Just as we empower our customers, we are committed to fostering the careers of our people. Join us and be part of a team that’s shaping the future.

The Opportunity

Join our global team as an FCC Officer focused on sanctions, AML and export controls. You’ll be the dedicated advisor for sanctions, AML and export controls across Iberia and a key contributor to the Group FCC function. You’ll help shape and enforce the standards that keep us compliant in a fast-moving payments landscape, partnering with business leaders, risk, and regulators. This role blends hands-on advisory work with strategic policy development, offering a clear path to broaden your impact across the organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary sanctions, AML and export controls advisor for Iberia entities, escalating for Group FCC needs as required.
  • Monitor Spanish, EU, OFAC and OFSI regulations; assess impact and ensure alignment with internal controls.
  • Develop, implement and oversee sanctions and export control policies with consistent group-wide application.
  • Support name screening, transaction filtering, and trade restriction controls; advise on potential breaches and mitigations.
  • Manage sanctions-related escalations, deliver complex case consultations, and engage regulators when needed.
  • Lead sanctions training and workshops to keep business and compliance teams informed of expectations.
  • Ensure alignment of sanctions controls with broader AML/CFT frameworks and terrorist financing risk management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audits to test the effectiveness of sanctions controls.
  • Maintain ongoing regulatory engagement with EU regulators and supervisory bodies as required.
  • Provide impactful advisory support across the three lines of defense (1LOD, 2LOD, 3LOD) on sanctions and export controls topics.

Who Are We Looking For

We look for big thinkers who can drive positive change, bring a can-do attitude, and show a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

  • Expert knowledge of Spanish and EU sanctions with strong AML/CTF understanding; familiarity with OFAC and OFSI frameworks.
  • Minimum 5+ years in financial crime compliance, sanctions, or trade restrictions within financial services or payments.
  • At least 3+ years in a sanctions advisory or FCC officer role.
  • Solid understanding of Spanish and EU AML regulations and their interaction with sanctions and export controls.
  • Regulatory engagement experience with EU regulators or international supervisory bodies.
  • Knowledge of sanctions technology (name screening, transaction filtering, trade controls).
  • Recognized FCC certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA Sanctions, AML Specialist or equivalent).
  • Strong advisory and stakeholder management skills; thrives in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
  • English and Spanish mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, or related field; advanced compliance qualification preferred.
