The Opportunity

At Worldline MS UK Limited, we are looking for a Compliance Officer to support and strengthen our regulatory compliance framework in the UK.
This role is best suited to someone with a strong regulatory compliance background, ideally gained in a regulated financial services environment. Experience in payments is advantageous, but the key requirement is a solid grounding in regulatory compliance, governance, policy development, regulatory interpretation, and second-line oversight.
This is not a financial crime or FCC role. Instead, the role focuses on supporting the firm’s wider regulatory compliance obligations as an FCA-authorised Payment Institution operating in merchant acquiring. This includes helping to ensure the business continues to meet its obligations under the Payment Services Regulations 2017, relevant FCA requirements, and associated expectations relating to areas such as safeguarding, conduct, governance, regulatory change, and oversight of key regulatory frameworks.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing practical compliance support, maintaining policies and frameworks, assessing regulatory developments, and contributing to a strong culture of compliance. The role is well suited to a proactive, organised, and thoughtful individual who is comfortable working independently while remaining closely connected with colleagues in a remote environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
    •    Support the maintenance and ongoing enhancement of the firm’s regulatory compliance framework as an FCA-authorised Payment Institution.
    •    Help ensure alignment with the Payment Services Regulations 2017, relevant FCA rules and guidance, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
    •    Support compliance oversight in key regulatory areas, including safeguarding, governance, conduct, and regulatory reporting.
    •    Monitor UK regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business, supporting implementation where required.
    •    Draft, review, and update internal compliance policies, procedures, frameworks, and governance documentation.
    •    Deliver elements of the Compliance Monitoring Plan, including thematic reviews, control assessments, and follow-up tracking.
    •    Provide clear, practical regulatory compliance advice to internal stakeholders across the business.
    •    Support governance processes, internal reporting, committee materials, and documentation relating to compliance oversight.
    •    Assist with the review of regulatory obligations relevant to operational arrangements, including third-party and outsourcing considerations where applicable.
    •    Contribute to compliance training and awareness initiatives where needed.

Who Are We Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. Our ideal candidate will have:
    •    At least 4 years’ experience in a compliance, regulatory, or legal role within a regulated environment.
    •    Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, governance, policies, and controls.
    •    Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and translating them into practical business actions.
    •    Experience drafting and maintaining policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
    •    Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently across the business.
    •    Strong analytical and organisational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    •    The ability to work independently and effectively in a largely remote environment.
    •    Availability to attend the office at least once a month.

Particularly Relevant Experience
The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:
    •    Experience in payments, merchant acquiring, fintech, e-money, or wider financial services.
    •    Familiarity with the Payment Services Regulations 2017 and FCA expectations applicable to Payment Institutions.
    •    Exposure to regulatory compliance matters relating to safeguarding, governance, regulatory change, and second-line oversight.
    •    Experience supporting compliance monitoring, regulatory projects, or policy framework maintenance.
    •    Experience with third-party or outsourcing oversight in a regulated environment.
