Senior Team Lead Credit Risk

The opportunity

 

We are looking for a Team Lead Credit Risk to become part our Cedit Risk department and lead one of our international based teams. Your team will have the end-to-end credit risk management responsibility for managing our global merchant portfolios and managing large credit exposures for several licensed entities within Worldline Merchant Services (MS).

 

In this challenging role you will have the unique opportunity to lead by example and guide one of our Credit Risk teams including a small own portfolio with international and strategical enterprise clients.

You will be at the core of our MS organisation with a high level of visibility, senior stakeholder management and effectively communicate internally and externally at executive level.

You will work closely with our Go To Markets Sales, Legal, Product and supporting Worldline’s business growth.

 

As our new Team Lead your will manage a team of (senior) credit risk analysts (>6 FTE) and you will manage your own small portfolio with complex and strategical merchants. You will be a leading example as working foreman in performing enhanced credit risk and financial analysis, conduct credit memos and annual reviews of merchants to assess their creditworthiness. You can approve credit exposures and be leading in negotiating terms and conditions with clients and represent your team in the relevant Risk Committees.

You need be based in the Netherlands and can work hybrid from home and at our Hoofddorp office.

 

About the team

 

The Credit Risk department is part of the MS Risk organization and we support the Go-To-Markets Global Commerce, Enterprise and Small & Medium Businesses by ensuring new and existing Merchant credit exposures and minimizing credit losses.

The Credit Risk department is growing and currently consists of over 20 colleagues spread across different international offices. The regular exchange with colleagues from different countries ensures exciting daily work and challenges at the same time.

 

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities

 

  • Leading a team of Credit Risk professionals and be responsible for your own and team portfolios
  • Performing in-depth financial analyses (P&L, BS and CF) and conduct detailed underwriting / credit assessments documenting the merchant business model and sector dynamics, financial performance with the key indicators, credit risks and mitigants
  • Presenting your credit proposal to divisional and group risk committees
  • Performing quality control of your team’s output
  • Carry out annual/periodic credit reviews of assigned limits and recommend risk class, changes in limit and collateral setup based on the outcome of the analysis
  • Collaborate closely with business development and advise/support them on the boarding process
  • Communicate effectively internally and externally at executive level
  • Review legal documents and amendments ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Credit risk signing authority (based on your level of expertise/experience)
  • For this Team Lead role, we expect you to have the ability to coach, develop and guide your team members

Previous experience with credit assessment, including assessing financial statements and business risk profiles.

 

 

Skills we can't do without

 

As our new Credit Risk Team Lead,

 

  • Over 3 years’ experience in leading a team, previous experience of establishing of a new team from the ground up is considered a plus
  • Over 8 years’ experience in credit risk, substantial knowledge and a deep understanding of financial analyses and accounting principles
  • Possess a strong leadership profile and people management skills to be able to manage and developed your team and get the best out of each individual
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with senior management, business lines, other risk management functions and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work together with other business line teams to identify and assess the level of risk the organization is taking on and to propose actions to mitigate risks
  • Solution driven and ownership; self-starter; ability to drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work
  • Full working proficiency in English
  • A master’s degree in finance, accounting, business economics, or related field
