The Opportunity

 

The Head of Compliance defines, implements and promotes consistent compliance standards and frameworks to Global Collect Services in accordance with Group compliance policies and recommendations and the local law and legislations

 

About the team

  • The team assesses and monitors the effectiveness of the compliance risks and control environment within the scope of its countries in order to identify and mitigate the risks.
  • The team provides to board and Group Compliance team with assessments of the overall entities Compliance risk profile and monitors the mitigation of high-risk compliance matters.
  • The team also provides the board and Group Compliance team with compliance reports and analysis in order for them to understand the key risks and issues and fulfil their legal responsibilities.

 

The Head of Compliance will be responsible to lead the team of local compliance officers. The role ensures that appropriate compliance processes are in place across the entities to meet the compliance standards, policies and international regulatory requirements, and to identify and handle current and emerging compliance risks and issues.

 

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

 

  • Implement Compliance projects, specific to Global Collect Services.
  • Ensure that information/reports required by Group compliance team are delivered in accordance with the timeline and guidance set by Group compliance team.
  • Maintain relationship with local collaborators. Coordinate with other functions such as legal and HR department.
  • Mentor and lead the compliance teams (including the local compliance team and the regulatory compliance, financial security, code of conduct and ethics and data protection divisions).
  • Assess the effectiveness of controls and continuously improve them.
  • Identify and mitigate high-risks. Assess future business activities to identify potential compliance risks. Ensure that, where required, issues are brought up appropriately. Inform the Board and WL Group compliance function on the main risks.
  • Supervises and control the accurate implementation of remediation actions resulting  from GIA internal audits in relation with compliance.

 

 

Who Are We Looking For

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Compliance/Law/Risks  in banking and/or payment industry with Post-Graduation in Legal
  • Prior experience working as compliance manager or in a similar position
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English is a must.
  • Good knowledge of compliance requirements, practices and principles.
  • Strong background in financial crime compliance is a plus.
  • Experience in Anti Money Laundering assessments and reporting
  • Experience in conducting a risk-based audits and monitoring including experience in quantifying, managing & mitigating risk. Expertise of internal control and audit methodologies
  • A professional compliance certificate is preferable.
