Worldline is a key supplier of self-service kiosks to the UK rail and hotel industries. We design, manufacture, deploy and support thousands of public use TVMs (Ticket Vending Machines) / kiosks / information points and digital signage across the UK Rail network & hospitality sites.

 

These machines are deployed in various environments and locations that range from friendly (e.g. inside luxury hotels) to hostile (unmanned remote railway stations open to weather and vandalism). The machines return average availability figures that exceed 99% in any given period measured against 24x7 operations.

 

In addition, Worldline are now delivering a new range of products & concepts as well as developing digital signage solutions for clients in the retail market both in the UK and world wide

 

The Support Specialist is a key role within the Worldline organisation, responsible for the day to day operations of technical services to their customers.     

 

Primarily this involves:

 

  • Investigating, troubleshooting and fixing 2nd line support issues
  • Managing the escalated call queue
  • Finding solutions to support calls
  • Pre-emptive System Monitoring
  • Participate with on call duties
  • Setting best practices and standards
  • Ad hoc project work as required
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by manager.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Essential criteria:

  • Experience and understanding of the following technologies:
  • Windows Server 2010 
  • MS SQL Server
  • Desktop build, image management & release control
  • Experience of working for an organisation in the IT services or consultancy arena
  • On call availability for evenings and weekends on a rota basis

 

  Desirable criteria:

  • Experience of working to tight deadlines under pressure, whilst producing high quality results, which are reviewed by other team members
  • ISA Server/TMG/Third party firewalls
  • IP Networking
  • Database Administration
  • Experience of working for an organisation in the IT services or consultancy arena
  • Reporting and transaction monitoring
  • Scalability and capacity management
  • Licence monitoring
  • Engineering knowledge around EPOS, PEDs, Self service kiosks
