The Opportunity
Through it's Global Collect brand, Worldline is one of the leading full-service providers of local and cross-border e-payment solutions across the globe. We enable our clients to realize their global ambitions and expand their e-commerce activities across the world. Every day we process millions of transactions ranging from the most common payment products (e.g. VISA, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, Direct Debits) to unique, country specific payment methods (e.g. iDeal, Kombini, WeChat, QIWI) for some of the biggest companies in the world.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to determine product roadmap that aligns with the broader company vision
- Be responsible for roadmap execution and delivery of projects with high quality and on time
- Grow, coach, and develop a team of software engineers
- Own the craftsmanship, reliability, security and scalability of our platform
- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization
- Recruit high-quality engineering talent for the team
- Help define the engineering culture and uphold the processes that will shape the future of the team
Who Are We Looking For
We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:
- 5+ years experience with direct people management, including growing and mentoring junior and senior engineers
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team, and continuously improve software engineering practices
- Good knowledge of software engineering methodology: meaningful and deeply-rooted opinions about testing and code quality, ability to make sound quality/speed trade-offs
- Collaborate with and across teams to design, build, and ship great experiences for our merchants
- Customer-focused and experience working in a product team, shipping products to end-users
- Significant experience building and operating critical high-scale systems
- Phenomenal management and team development skills: ability to set roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, help team members grow in their careers, and deliver results
- Expertise and curiosity about growing teams: interviewing junior and senior engineers, collaborating with a recruiting team, efficiently onboarding new team members
