Technical Skills:

1. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Services:

·        Proficient in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Google Cloud Dataflow.

·        Knowledge of GCP identity and access management (IAM) for data security during migration.

2. Data Migration Tools:

·        Experience with data migration tools like Google Cloud Transfer Service, Data Transfer Service, and third-party tools (e.g., Talend, Apache NiFi, Informatica).

·        Familiarity with GCP's Database Migration Service (DMS) for migrating databases to GCP.

3. Database Management Systems:

·        Experience with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Bigtable, Firestore).

·        Knowledge of data modeling and schema design to optimize migrated data.

4. Data Integration and ETL Processes:

·        Experience designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using tools like Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, or Cloud Composer.

5. Programming and Scripting Languages:

·        Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming data.

·        Familiarity with languages such as Python or Java for developing migration scripts and automating data workflows.

6. Cloud Networking:

·        Understanding of GCP networking concepts (e.g., VPC, subnets, firewall rules) and how they affect data migration architecture.

7. Storage Solutions:

·        Knowledge of Google Cloud Storage and best practices for data transfer, including object storage and lifecycle management.

8. Data Formats and Protocols:

·        Familiarity with various data formats (e.g., CSV, JSON, Avro) and data exchange protocols for effective data import/export.

9. Monitoring and Logging:

·        Experience with GCP's monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Stackdriver) to track data migration progress and troubleshoot issues.

10. Best Practices and Compliance:

·        Understanding of data governance, compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and security best practices related to data migration.

11. Version Control and CI/CD Tools:

·        Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools to manage and automate deployment processes.

Soft Skills:

In addition to technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and project management experience are also important for effectively working with stakeholders and ensuring successful data migration outcomes.
