Database Engineer (m/f/d)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

• Manage and maintain Oracle databases and features including troubleshooting, patching, configuring, solving incidents – all typical day to day duties
• Installation and implementation of Oracle databases including high-availability features and options
• Performing software installations, upgrades, migrations and apply patches
• Contribute on projects and support from database perspective
• Understand and support a sophisticated application and OLTP database environment including dependencies and specific interfaces to other systems
• Participate in meetings with other support teams and collaborators from the business
• Provide Oracle on-call service and direct customer contact

Who Are We Looking For

• At least 4+ years operational experience with solutions for high availability and disaster recovery based on Oracle databases
• You master to describe and explain databases issues to project leaders and collaborators from the business who are not IT-experts
• In-depth understanding of Oracle Database architecture, function and administration including special features like Real Application Cluster (RAC), Dataguard and Oracle Golden Gate
• You´ve got extensive knowledge of Database security and ability to design and implement security measures (Database Hardening) Ideally knowledge in the operational implementation of compliance guidelines according like PCIDSS and ISO27001
• Experience with performance tuning, performance management and capacity planning experience
• Ideally PL/SQL skills
• Reliability and precision at work
• Good interpersonal skills and a sense for the team spirit
• Intercultural competences and willingness to work in an international environment
• Proficient in English and good German skills
