The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Splunk Application Manager to join our team and take ownership of our enterprise Splunk environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Splunk platform across production, QA/integration, and test environments. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge data analytics technology whilst collaborating with diverse internal teams and external vendors to deliver reliable and efficient Splunk services that support our organisation's data analytics and security needs.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Monitor Splunk platform availability, performance, and licence usage, responding to alerts and resolving incidents promptly
• Perform regular health checks and proactively identify potential issues before they impact operations
• Plan and execute Splunk platform upgrades, patching, scaling activities, and certificate management
• Handle service requests including configuration changes, onboarding new data sources, and adjusting event filtering
• Manage Splunk entitlements, access roles, and ensure compliance with security policies and audit requirements
• Utilise automation tools and maintain operational documentation, architecture diagrams, and infrastructure maps
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical Splunk platform issue resolution and change management meetings
• Review and tune ITSI KPI searches for efficiency whilst managing service health scores and configurations
Who Are We Looking For

• 5+ years of experience managing and administering Splunk Enterprise environments in large enterprise settings
• Solid understanding of Splunk architecture, components, and functionalities including search head clustering and indexer clustering
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration with experience in scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Experience with Splunk ITSI, configuration management tools like Git, and working in IaaS environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in incident management and change management processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Fluency in English and experience with ticketing systems such as Jira and monitoring tools
