The opportunity

We are looking to hire a Payment Flow Accounting Expert who will be in charge of accounting, analysis and process optimization of diverse payment flows for a multitude of entities. 
You will be a member of the “Intermediation Accounting” team that as a whole focuses on the finance aspects of Client Funds Handling: accounting of these flows, executing of adequate controls, homogenization of processes and methodologies and implementation of strategic tooling. It also challenges, when relevant, business decisions based on the overall understanding of and empowerment on the end-to-end process. It possess at the end of the day, a sound understanding of the top line and anticipate trends impacts on financial KPIs and cash-flows.

The ideal candidate has an appetite to work mainly on projects and also on operations, a past experience working with large volume of data and are fluent in using IT tools. It requires a strong willingness to learn and to grow in an ever changing environment. In this role, you’ll report to the Group Intermediation Accounting Manager. There is also a strong connection required with the technical project teams, in particular in the area of reconciliation, and the operational reconciliation teams. We appreciate when system set-ups, processes and actions are in place and enable projects go-live and guarantee the financial flows watertightness commonly realized via reconciliation of data. 

Day-to-day responsibilities

• You participate to the transfer and transition of activities to GFS Romania
• You assist in guaranteeing the watertightness of the payment flows through set-up of efficient accounting and excellent reconciliations
• You design and implement adequate controls to prevent and detect incidents and unauthorized activities 
• You ensure an optimal implementation in day-to-day activities of reconciliation tools and its maintenance
• You assist the daily intermediation accounting operations to work efficiently 
• You assist in analysing the impact of incidents (incident management) and follow up any changes to avoid recurrence
• You perform extensive analysis and propose the needed actions to ensure consistency and accuracy of activites
• You perform month/quarterly/annual closure activities in accordance with agrred group

Who Are We Looking for

•   Educational background in Economics, Accounting, or Finance

•   You have between 3 and 5 years of experience in Accounting, Banking or Payment industry

•   You possess analytical and problem-solving skills, working with large volume of data
•   You are eager to learn more about Payment Flows and have an affinity with technology
•   Knowledge of working in SAP and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), any other system is a plus
•   Your English is at very good level, any other language would be a plus
•    Visual Basic and BI Powerquery knowledge is a plus
