The Opportunity

We are seeking a versatile Software Architect to help us to build scalable, secure and innovative solutions.

The Core Foundation & Integration Tribe (CFI) implements and delivers the Issuing core applications, from Card Issuing lifecycle to Transactions clearing & settlement. With over 150 million cards and 1.16 billion monthly transactions, our platforms operate at the forefront of capacity and performance.

As Software Architect, you will integrate into a diverse, agile, and collaborative cross-cultural team consisting of business analysts, tech leads, developers and testers. You will play a pivotal role by designing and overseeing the development of complex software systems. You will define the architecture and technical standards and guide the development process, to ensure robustness, scalability and future readiness of our assets.  

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

• In cooperation with the solutions architecture team, be part of the selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools. Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and methodologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
• Define scalable & robust software architecture for our assets, in line with business requirements.
• Design architectural solutions and create detailed technical specifications, system diagrams, and documentation.
• Lead architecture reviews of our assets and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure architecture implementation aligns with design.
• Support continuous improvement by mentoring developers and reviewing code where necessary.
• Participate in planning and overseeing large-scale software projects and migrations.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software architecture.

In practice this means:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, distributed systems, software engineering, or another equivalent field
• Expertise in designing cloud-based architectures, APIs, and integrations for payment platforms.
• Ability to analyze and understand complex product domains and translate into effective technical solutions within complex and large-scale java applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership skills in guiding engineering teams and influencing technical direction.
• Ability to document complex systems clearly and comprehensively.
• A team player who thrives in collaborative environments, fostering teamwork inside the department and across organizational boundaries.
• Passionate about learning new things and staying up to date in modern development frameworks and methodologies.
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1); French appreciated.
