Worldline helps businesses of all shapes and sizes to accelerate their growth journey - quickly, simply, and securely. We are the innovators at the heart of the payments technology industry, shaping how the world pays and gets paid. Our technology powers the growth of millions of businesses across 5 continents. And just as we help our customers accelerate their business, we are committed to helping our people accelerate their careers. Together, we shape the evolution.

The opportunity

The ATM France platform is at the heart of the payment ecosystem in France and beyond. Our team carries a major responsibility: operating and maintaining a critical platform that supports transactions from French and international customers every day. This mission demands sharp expertise, uncompromising rigor, and a culture of operational excellence.

We are a customer-focused team: we listen to the needs raised by our clients, we understand the business challenges they face, and we respond with the quality and reliability they expect. Security and compliance are not isolated silos in our operations—they are the foundations of this excellence.

Joining the ATM France Area means growing within a team that values doing things right, continuous learning, and tangible impact. You'll discover how to combine operational rigor, customer orientation, and a security-first culture to build a trusted service that millions of users depend on.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Working closely in DevOps team, you will:

  • Monitor production daily: Conduct regular health checks, review logs, analyze alerts, and maintain situational awareness of system performance.
  • Develop production sense: Build intuitive understanding of system behavior and early warning signals to identify and mitigate issues before they impact customers.
  • Manage incidents effectively: Respond to production incidents with urgency, assess impact, communicate status, and work toward rapid resolution.
  • Conduct incident post-mortems: Lead blameless post-mortems, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
  • Reduce risk & enhance resilience: Identify vulnerabilities and gaps, propose preventative measures, and execute hardening activities.
  • Design & maintain observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for real-time visibility into system health and performance.
  • Automate operations: Develop scripts and tools to reduce manual work, improve deployment frequency, and champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
  • Manage disaster recovery: Maintain comprehensive DRP and backup/restoration procedures; conduct regular resilience tests and drive improvements.
  • Master & document processes: Gain comprehensive understanding of all operational processes, architecture decisions, and dependencies; maintain clear documentation.
  • Verify deployments: Check and validate application deployments across development, testing and production environments.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines: Ensure pipelines are reliable, efficient, and traceable; monitor pipeline health and resolve deployment issues.
  • Integrate DevOps Team in Agile: Embed SRE practices into Agile workflows and contribute to continuous improvement cycles.
  • Improve Worldline methodologies: Understand operational methodologies and actively propose process improvements.
  • Analyze performance: Conduct capacity planning, load testing, and performance analysis to ensure platform scalability.

Who are we looking for

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

  • Technical foundation:
  • You have solid hands-on experience with Linux system administration, relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and networking fundamentals.
  • You're proficient in shell scripting and understand modern web technologies and APIs.
  • You can work effectively with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform for IaC, Kubernetes for orchestration, and Puppet for configuration management).
  • You're comfortable with version control (Git) and familiar with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), allowing you to manage and optimize deployment pipelines.
  • You have practical experience with load testing and performance analysis tools to identify bottlenecks and validate system scalability.
  • Beyond these technical skills, you're comfortable learning new tools quickly and are genuinely curious about evolving technologies.
  • Core professional traits:
  • You are organized, methodical, and meticulous - precision in configuration and documentation prevents outages.
  • You ask smart questions, learn rapidly, and enjoy solving complex problems.
  • You have an intuitive ability to adapt your communication style based on your audience: explaining technical complexity to peers, stakeholders, and management with equal clarity.
  • You're genuinely open to criticism and feedback, using them as fuel for personal growth rather than defensiveness. Importantly, you are fluent in English and have working knowledge of French (or strong willingness to learn), as you'll collaborate regularly with the France-based team and French-speaking clients.
  • Operational mindset:
  • You understand that reliability is everyone's responsibility.
  • You care deeply about customer experience and system stability.
  • You develop strong situational awareness of production systems, learning to anticipate issues before they escalate.
  • You balance multiple priorities effectively - responding to urgent incidents without losing sight of long-term reliability goals.
  • You know when to escalate and when to resolve independently, demonstrating good judgment under pressure.
  • Team & continuous improvement:
  • You are a generous collaborator who works effectively across teams (development, operations, security, management).
  • You share knowledge freely, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to a positive, psychologically safe team culture.
  • You proactively identify improvements and see tasks through to completion, taking personal ownership of your responsibilities and the platform's health.
  • You actively document lessons learned from incidents and champion a culture of learning and experimentation within your team.
  • Security-minded & purpose-driven:
  • You have genuine curiosity about security challenges and are sincerely committed to contributing to mission-critical infrastructure.
  • You understand that security and compliance are foundational to operational excellence, not afterthoughts.
  • You are passionate, have a positive attitude, and have a genuine hunger to learn and progress.
  • You're ready to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with distributed teams, and you embrace new methodologies with enthusiasm.
