The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join a fast-paced, cross-functional Agile squad for our Belgium Customers. The BA will translate complex payment flows and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable requirements, collaborating with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, OPS, E2E Business Analysts and customers stakeholders to ensure compliant, reliable, and customer-centric payment experiences from card management to settlement.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Align with Product Owner to ensure the scrum backlog is well-prioritized, refined, and ready for development with clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, and story points.
- Maintain DOR (Definition of Ready) and DOD (Definition of Done); ensure traceability from ideation to production.
- Elicit, analyze, and document end-to-end SEPA domain requirements across lifecycle touchpoints.
- Translate business needs into well-formed user stories and maintain a living requirements backlog.
- Map requirements to SEPA domains (SCT, SCT-inst, SDD, SCC) and HVP/MCP; ensure regulatory and security considerations (PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR) are embedded as non-functional requirements.
- Develop data governance artifacts, data dictionaries, and data quality controls, as and when required.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, and demonstrations; manage expectations and obtain formal sign-offs from Product Owners and stakeholders.
- Maintain end-to-end Requirements Traceability from ideation to production.
- Create and maintain BRDs, FSDs, DevDocs, use cases, data models, process diagrams, and confluence updates.
- Ensure JIRA items contain complete evidence, testability criteria, and alignment with release scope.
- Define and review end-to-end test scenarios, edge cases, and test data; support QA with acceptance criteria and traceability.
- Coordinate with security/privacy teams for vulnerability and compliance validation; assist with UAT planning and defect triage.
- Define business rules, data requirements, and integration points with gateways, processors, vaults, risk tools.
- Support data governance initiatives and monitor data quality across SEPA processes.
- Assess impact of changes on SEPA processes; identify dependencies and coordinate release readiness activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and issue resolution; communicate status clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements to reduce rework; monitor backlog health and DoR/DoD adherence.
- Maintain and publish knowledge artifacts (Confluence, master slides) and contribute to PI planning activities.
Success criteria
- Backlog refined with clear descriptions and acceptance criteria; DoR/DoD applied.
- Requirements traceability maintained from ideation to production.
- No major regulatory or security gaps identified in releases; data quality checks performed as applicable.
- Timely delivery of tasks with minimal rework and well-supported test data.
Who Are We Looking For

- 3+ years of Business Analysis experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, with proven success in Agile settings (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid).
- Deep knowledge of payment ecosystems (SEPA payments, settlement processes, accounting, reconciliation, and chargeback handling).
- Proven ability to elicit and document requirements, write compelling user stories, and define acceptance criteria; strong backlog management and prioritization skills.
- Solid understanding of payment security standards and regulatory requirements PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR.
- Proficiency in data analysis (SQL, Excel/Sheets) and ability to translate data insights into business decisions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to bridge business, risk/compliance, and technical teams.
- Experience with Agile tooling (Jira, Confluence) and collaboration tools (e.g.Miro).
- Exposure to API-first architectures, microservices, API testing tools (Postman or similar) is plus
- Payments domain knowledge and regulatory awareness
- Analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
- Facilitation and collaboration across product, engineering, security/privacy, risk
- Risk management, impact assessment, and decision-making.
- Requirements modeling, backlog management, and test planning
- Clear, actionable payment-related user stories with robust acceptance criteria
- A well-groomed backlog prioritized by business impact, risk, and regulatory alignment
- Successful delivery of features with strong QA and regulatory compliance
