The Opportunity

We are seeking a Software engineer to join a highly motivated agile squad within the Debit Issuing Tribe. Our tribe is diverse, encompassing multiple languages, technologies, and locations, and is organized into small cross-functional DevOps squads. The Debit Issuing Tribe provides highly available services that ensure cashless payment validation, authorization and card management solutions for a significant portion of Swiss, Austrian, and Belgian banks.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

• Work within one of our scrum squads that are fully responsible for their applications from code to production (DevOps).
• Focus on the payment infrastructure, including issuing Card Management.
• Ensure the performance of services under high constraints (speed, high availability, robustness, quality, etc.)
• The team build, run and maintain the applications and services that deal with the card issuing needs of our customers; the Swiss and Austrian banks (approx. 20 million cards)
• The team implements new features and follows the latest business market evolutions
• The team takes ownership 24/7, and when necessary of productive problems and releases
• The team always improves on our continuous delivery pipeline as well as on our deployment infrastructure and our internal processes
• The team supports various stakeholders by troubleshooting and resolving any issues occurring in production, ensuring constant system improvement.

Who Are We Looking For

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

• A proactive, resourceful, experienced computer science engineer with excellent knowledge in Java, SQL, Web (frontend & backend). Angular, Quarcus - Spring & Hibernate is a plus
• Most importantly, an Agile believer, willing to actively participate in the team’s life and activities 
• A developer, who is also not afraid to operate or test applications, nor to work on maintenance tasks. Willing to embrace a full DevOps mode.
• Content to work on legacy programs, optimize and refactor them  and do code reviews 
• Willing to take application ownership, work under high pressure and production constraints.
• Knowledge in Git, Docker, Maven, Jenkins, Tomcat.
  Cobol, and/or HP Nonstop and/or basic bash knowledge would be a plus
• Willing to learn, grow and broaden horizons, not only technically but also within Card Management and payments business 
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken), German or French would be very beneficial
