The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and driven Site Reliability Engineer.
You will be working in the Team FS/DS/Fraud Management/Operations & Monitoring.
The major focus of the team is providing Fraud services for and with our internal customers in the financial processing sector in all countries. Our team not only offers you a wide variety of work, and innovative technologies, but also the space to develop yourself in an environment where there is a good balance between experienced and less experienced colleagues. You will be collaborating closely with colleagues from the Development and Test departments and project group members on customer projects as well as migration (to Cloud) projects. We are a team, where each member has their own primary responsibility but with the support and help of colleagues.
As team we take care of management and maintenance of several Fraud applications for the (mainly) European market. To secure knowledge of a specific part of the business and their typical application issues, we have clustered the applications in the chain and each cluster is responsible for applications that are closely related to each other.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage the correct use of the applications during daily operation.
- Manage and resolve incidents, problems and changes.
- Quickly and accurately determine impact in case of (high priority) incidents, estimate resolution times in case of (high priority) incidents and establish counter measures in case of incidents.
- Part of a on call (24*7) roster
- Work outside of office hours in case of need (due to incidents and/or installations)
- Initiate improvement plans and prevention of problems.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions for production errors.
- Contribute to key consolidation projects.
- DEV OPS way of working in squads with test- and development experts.
- Set, check and maintain conditions and criteria for the implementation of new or changed application components and processes.
- Advice colleagues
- Produce quality improvement plans, business continuity plans, operating instructions.
Who Are We Looking For

- Bachelor or University degree, preferably in an Applied Computer Science discipline.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide a coherent explanation at various levels.
- Full proficiency of the English language is a must.

- Decisive and result oriented.
- Conscientious and analytical worker.

- Good organization skills capable of enthusiastically completing tasks with the team.
- Strong affinity with Java, JBoss, Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL Linux, Cloud solutions (including Puppet, Terraform)
- SOAP / XML, Web services, IIS, scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Linux shell), Bash scripting (preferred)
- Useful if you have already gained knowledge of ITIL and TMAP
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting solutions preferable; Zabbix, Grafana, PagerDuty
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools like Jenkins or GitLab
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Understanding of security best practices and compliancy standards like PCI DSS, GDPR, DORA
