This role will report to the Accounting Manager and Country Director - Mehdi Haddouch.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

Worldline NV/SA has a license as Payment Institute. General Accounting, part of Accounting Operations, within Worldline Group is a critical process as it is for any payment services institution, given its underlying financial and compliance implications. As a General Ledger Senior Accountant, you will assist in managing the books of a several entities of the Worldline Group with a particular focus on reporting for consolidated books to the  Worldline Group & on reporting in local GAAP.

 As a successful GL Senior Accountant, you support and accelerate our companies and Group on by doing what you do best:

• Closing activities in IFRS and local GAAP (monthly)
• Management reporting in IFRS for consolidation purposes (monthly)
• Consolidation of 15 Branches in EU into one of the  the Belgian entity
• Reportings based upon local GAAP to the National Bank of Belgium, FPS Economy & Works Council (monthly, quarterly and/or yearly) for Belgian entities
• Reportings for Value Added Tax, Corporate income Tax & Environmental Taxes (monthly, quarterly and/or yearly) for Belgian entities
• Balance sheet reconciliation (clearing) and substantiation (justification of open items) & management of balance sheet review meetings
• Collaboration with colleagues in General Ledger Team in Brussels and shared service center (nearshore)
• Collaboration with Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, FBO (Finance Business Operation) team in Brussels
• Collaboration with Controlling/Chief Financial Officer for Global Business Lines * Merchant Services & * Financial Services in Brussels
• Collaboration with fiduciaries & consultants for local reportings of companies/branches abroad
• Assistance in internal audits (f.e. on regulatory reporting and oversight) & external (half-) year closings & audits on procedures by our External Auditor
• Assistance in ad hoc external tax audits (Value Added Tax, Corporate income Tax & Environmental Taxes)
• Working on projects in a continuously changing payment world
• Through collaboration with other departments in the business, you will build our reputation as a trusted partner
• You assist to design, maintain and manage a framework of controls for current and new business activities
• You continuously improve the reporting processes and build strong accounting  controls and ensure adherence to our internal accounting policies

Who Are We Looking For

• Minimum 3/4 years of experience within accounting at Big4 (or equivalent), or at a multinational organisation; pursued Bachelor graduation
• You have the ability to lead activities
• You have an analytical mindset
• You have a natural focus on delivery and profitability
• You get energy from solving problem in a pragmatic way
• You are able to work on own initiative and stick to tight deadlines
• Ability to structure complex topics and translate business needs towards partners and internal stakeholders
• You are fluent in English, Dutch and/or French is an asset
• You are eager to learn more about Accounting, Tax and reporting
• Expert in Excel and SAP
• Knowledge of the payments, eCommerce or FinTech industry is a plus
