Reporting directly to the Accounting Director, you'll play a vital role within this rapidly growing and high-caliber team. You'll work across a broad range of activities including General Ledger, transactional accounting, tax preparation, and audits. You'll also contribute to process improvement projects, work with SAP daily, and gain extensive commercial experience within the exciting industry that powers most of the commercial activity on the planet.

Key Responsibilities of the Role Will Include But Not Be Limited To:

  • General Ledger Accounting & Reporting
  • Capturing journal entries (accruals and manual entries, posting of daily and month-end journals into SAP)
  • Overseeing monthly transactional accounting ensuring quality and compliance with corporate policy
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Preparing and reconciling IFRS16, fixed assets, depreciation, VAT declaration, tax return declaration, and financial statements
  • Monthly payroll entries and reconciliation
  • Calculation of leave accrual
  • Inventory management
  • Identifying and being involved in process improvement projects
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Collaborate with other finance department heads on complex financial modeling
  • Support and collaborate with external and internal auditors
  • Liaise with external and internal tax advisors and regulatory organizations
  • Contribute to end-of-period processes and support the analysis of business performance, budgets, and forecasts
  • Work closely with the team and the manager to support financial decision-making
  • Participate in reviewing and implementing current accounting practices, assessing facts in line with tax and legal requirements, encompassing Luxembourg GAAP and IFRS standards
  • Play a key role in the monthly and annual closing activities within the required timeframe

Who Are You?

We are looking for individuals capable of driving positive change, moving forward, and showing the way ahead - passionate individuals with a positive attitude and a thirst for learning and progress. In practice, this means:

  • Several (5+ minimum) years of experience in a similar role
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and database management
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Mature enough to work autonomously, collaborative enough to work well with the team
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Professional work ethic, intelligence, and self-awareness
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of European taxes is a plus
  • English mandatory
  • Knowledge in ERP systems like SAP is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of local taxes [VAT/EU sales lists/Income taxes] and regulations
