We are seeking a DevOps Engineer for the Payments Domain. You’ll join a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
We’re looking for a versatile DevOps Software Engineer to help us build scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. You will play a pivotal role by proposing and implementing solutions that ensure robustness, scalability, and future readiness of our assets.

Responsibilities
•    Own end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for Java-based payment domain services (Maven, SonarQube, Dependency-Track, CycloneDX, multi-module projects, toolchains) and ensure fast, reliable delivery.
•    Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD workflows leveraging templates (GitLab Auto DevOps, Maven templates) and custom pipelines.
•    Build, deploy, and operate containerized workloads (Docker) on Kubernetes (GKE) in Google Cloud Platform (GCP); enable GitOps where applicable.
•    Manage artifact repositories (Nexus/Artifact Registry), SBOM generation (CycloneDX), and vulnerability scanning (Trivy, Dependency-Track, Sonarqube) with automated gates.
•    Technical owner of platform: requirements, architecture, security, standards, automation, monitoring, and cost optimization across the software lifecycle.
•    Ensure secure software delivery: secret management, IAM roles/service accounts, network policies, image scanning, and compliance gates.
•    Define and enforce standards for CI/CD, automated builds, unit tests, and release processes; optimize performance, security, and cost.
•    Drive performance, reliability, and security improvements: observability (metrics, logs, tracing), CI performance tuning, and failover strategies.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders; communicate risk, decisions, and roadmaps effectively.
•    Maintain documentation: runbooks, pipeline/design docs, onboarding guides, and architecture diagrams.
Required Experience and Skills
•    DevOps/Platform Engineering with Java ecosystems,  CI/CD, production support, Database, network, Security and cloud experience.
•    Strong experience in defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
•    Strong experience in implementation of monitoring for automated system health checks, automating software updates/fixes/patches
•    Strong experience in building and maintaining highly available systems and trouble shooting
•    Expertise in driving continuous improvement, optimal resource utilisation, cost efficiency, data archival and retrieval
•    Ability to make decision, provide direction, manage stakeholders, influence outcome,  identify risks/issues, share knowledge, collaborate and create content.
•    Deep proficiency with:
•    GitLab CI/CD (templates, extends, rules, artifacts, needs)
•    Maven-based Java builds, multi-module projects, and Maven toolchains
•    Docker and Kubernetes (Kubernetes resources – Helm Chart)
•    Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Artifact Registry, IAM, VPC, Pub/Sub, etc)
•    Security tooling (CycloneDX, Dependency-Track, SonarQube, Trivy)
•    Artifact management (Nexus/Artifact Registry)
•    Scripting: Bash, Python; JSON/YAML tooling
•    Database: Oracle, PostgreSQL
•    Infrastructure as code: Terraform/Cloud Deployment Manager
•    Familiarity with:
•    Maven settings.xml, pom.xml health, dependency management, and duplicate dependency fixes
•    SonarQube quality gates, code scanning, and CI integration
•    Observability: metrics, logs, tracing; CI performance tuning
•    CI/CD governance: release management, change control, rollback strategies.
•    Experience with large-scale payment domain apps (domain-driven design is a plus)
•    Strong  problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/IS or equivalent; relevant certifications (GCP, DevOps) a plus
Nice-to-Have
•    Experience with dependency management across multi-module projects and Maven
•    Prior exposure to migration projects (e.g., SVN to Git) and deadline-driven environments
•    Data analytics tooling experience (dashboards, automated test reports)
Deliverables and Metrics
•    Reliable, scalable CI/CD pipelines with low failure rates and fast feedback loops
•    Automated SBOMs and vulnerability reports integrated into pipelines
•    Secure, auditable deployments to GKE with repeatable, verified runs
•    Comprehensive runbooks, architecture diagrams, and onboarding guides
•    Quantified cost efficiency and resource optimization metrics
