The Opportunity
Worldline Operation Services subdivision provides monitoring products to all Worldline Business lines around the world. As a service oriented department, we are experts in supervision, fast incident response and creating or integrating technical solutions around monitoring.
Our full team is made up of more than 100 people located in different European countries (France, Germany, Luxemburg, Netherlands and Poland).
The observability squad has the accountability for our global observability strategy and the integration of external products (mainly Open Source) in WL production standards.
We are also supporting our business in adopting our products, providing our expertise and guidance.
Our Observability stack relies mainly on the Grafana stack (Grafana, Mimir/Prometheus, Loki...) but we keep operating other technical solutions in specific environment (Zabbix)
We are also implementing a flexible predictive monitoring feature based on machine learning which will be live in January.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
In this role, you will become an expert user and a key stakeholder for our business teams around monitoring and observability solutions.
Your role will be to :
- Support deployment industrialization for technology standards currently used in our company
- Be a key contact for our business teams (DevOps, SRE, ...) searching for support or advices
- Support guidelines delivery to increase global autonomy around these topics
In parallel, you'll participate with the rest of the team to deploy new business expectation in WL private and public cloud (GCP mainly).
You'll have a specific focus on contributing to our new predictive monitoring feature.
You will join a team of 7 people located in France and Poland.
Who Are We Looking For
We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:
- Great experience with Application and/or system Management in a production environment
- Great interest in observability and monitoring domains in general
- Good experience with log and metric management (Grafana suite, Prometheus, Telegraf…). Basic knowledge in other market providers is a plus
- First experience with machine learning
Required qualification
- 3+ years of experience working in an IT production environment with a specific focus on monitoring practices
- 2+ years experience with Prometheus (used to work with PromQL) and Grafana. First experience with Loki will be appreciated
- Proficient in Python
- Very good communication skills and English fluent
- 1+ year working with Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab and potentially Puppet
- Curious and innovation driven
