What will your job look like

Your main focus will be on the development and operations side within the Way4 application. The development is done in Oracle PLSQL. Additionally, you will take on various operational tasks to ensure the smooth deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the application. This involves managing and improving CI/CD pipelines, maintaining infrastructure, and optimizing existing processes while looking for new ways to automate routine tasks.

Collaborating closely with development and QA teams for seamless integration and deployment of new features will be a key part of your role, as well as monitoring system performance and resolving incidents to maintain high availability and reliability. Daily, you will discuss possible solutions and ideas with your colleagues to refine development and operational processes.

Skills we can’t do without

Some things to take into account to be successful in this role:

  • You have a Bachelor and/or Master degree (in IT)
  • You have 3+ years’ experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role
  • You must have real world and hands-on experience:
    • 3+ years’ experience developing in Oracle PLSQL
    • Basic Oracle DBA knowledge
    • Infrastructure knowledge (Windows, Linux)
  • Build, set up, and manage development tools and infrastructure
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
  • Team player with good communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills;
  • You are comfortable in English, spoken and in writing
  • Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in complex financial environments is an advantage
  • You have a strong sense of pro-activeness, accountability and ownership

 

DevOps

  • A strong sense of responsibility when working in a critical production environment
  • Willingness to participate in 1st and 2nd line support and work outside normal office hours (e.g., during releases and incidents)
  • Installation and deployment of software (releases; patches)
  • Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions for production errors
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting solutions
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools like Jenkins or GitLab
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, VBScript, Bash/Shell scripting
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliancy standards;
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and deploying/managing applications in the cloud
