Job Title: Functional/Manual Tester

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Functional Tester with 3 to 8 years of experience in manual testing and hands-on API testing using Postman. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of business requirements, and the ability to work closely with development, product, and business teams to ensure high-quality software delivery across web and/or mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, technical documents, and user stories
• Design, develop, and execute manual test cases, test scenarios, and test data
• Create and maintain test plans, test execution reports, and requirement traceability matrices (RTM)
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and sanity testing
• Conduct API testing using Postman, including:
• Validating request and response payloads
• Verifying HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and error handling
• Creating and executing Postman collections and environments
• Writing basic Postman test scripts (JavaScript) and chaining API requests
• Perform testing across multiple environments (QA, UAT, Pre-Prod)
• Identify, log, track, retest, and close defects using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Ensure complete test coverage and adherence to defined quality standards
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and resolve issues
• Participate in test planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and test status reporting
• Provide test effort estimates and input for sprint commitments
• Support UAT activities and assist in production validation when required
• Assist in production issue analysis and root-cause validation
• Follow and promote best testing practices and quality processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in functional/manual testing
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC
• Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman
• Good knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP/HTTPS protocols
• Experience in writing clear, detailed, and reusable test cases
• Proficiency in defect management and test management tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• High attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset

Good to Have

• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Exposure to automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Basic understanding of non-functional testing concepts (performance, security, usability)
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior testers (for senior profiles)

• ISTQB Certified (ISTQB Foundation Level or higher)
• Knowledge of Telecom domain and telecom solutions
• Basic understanding of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems and call flow mechanisms

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
