The Opportunity

Join the Worldline Test Competence Centre as an Application Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and robustness of our electronic payment systems. You'll simulate thousands of transactions from Belgian cardholders across e-commerce and point-of-sale terminals, working with cutting-edge testing technology to maintain the highest quality standards for our global payment solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Execute performance and robustness non-regression test scenarios using advanced simulators and injectors
• Monitor and administer Linux servers to ensure system reliability and availability
• Collaborate closely with development teams to identify and resolve performance issues
• Report on test results and ensure performance targets are met for each new release
• Analyse system degradations with System Engineers, Database Administrators and Development Teams
• Create and maintain scripts using bash, python and other programming languages
• Provide technical expertise during high-pressure situations including incidents and releases

Who Are We Looking For

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

• Higher education in information technology or 2-3 years of experience in software testing

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems and SQL databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL)

• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java (17+), C++, Python, or TypeScript

• Experience with Spring Boot framework and Git version control

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with outstanding attention to detail

• Fluent English communication skills (both written and spoken)

• Ability to work autonomously whilst collaborating effectively in team environments

• Knowledge of ISO 8583 standards would be advantageous
