The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Finance team in Athens on a fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a global leader in payment services while gaining valuable experience in international financial operations.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures compliance with all Worldline group policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Completes monthly balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time
  • Enforces internal control policies and procedures across financial operations
  • Oversees the timely preparation, review, and approval of monthly bank account and cash reconciliations
  • Ensures proper recording and classification of accounting events according to International Financial Reporting Standards and Tax Accounting
  • Oversees booking and payment processes
  • Prepares tax submissions including VAT, CIT, withholding tax, and other relevant filings
  • Collaborates with internal and external auditors during statutory and regulatory audit preparations
  • Prepares accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies

 

Who Are We Looking For

  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting and tax matters
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; additional relevant post-graduate studies are a plus
  • Proficient use of English (both verbal and written)
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel
  • Team-oriented mindset with good leadership potential
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience is preferred)
