The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled API Integration Engineer to join our technical team in Brussel for a fixed term contract until 31/12/2027. You will support Electronic Cash Register (ECR) integrations. As an API Integration Engineer, your primary responsibility is to design, maintain, and optimize integrations with external clients, with a specific focus on ECR API integration at the protocol level (VIC, CTEP). This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and problem-solving ability. You will serve as a technical liaison between engineering teams and customers/partners, helping to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, and to prevent them from arising in the future.

Your responsibilities

• Provide technical support and hands-on integration assistance for ECR API Integration project
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API connectivity and system interoperability
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure robust integration solutions
• Monitor system performance and diagnose potential issues before they escalate
• Communicate effectively in English with clients and internal teams
• Manage project-related communications, deliverables, and status updates
• Use Jira for issue tracking and project management

• Bachalor degree or equivalent
• 4 - 5 years of experience, ideally in a similar position
• Good communication skills – fluent in Dutch or French and English
• Open-minded and flexible
• Strong technical background ( HW/SW environment )
• Experience with API integrations
• Familiarity with Jira and agile project practices
• Ready to work in an international context
• Team player with a good level of autonomy
