CAWL is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to define, implement, oversee, and coordinate its cloud infrastructure used across our payment products.
Within the Technology & Operations department, you will report directly to the Head of Technology and work closely with CAWL’s operations teams, our partners, as well as Worldline’s solution teams.
The Opportunity
As a DevOps Engineer within the Technology & Operations team, you will contribute to the deployment, evolution, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructures and production tools. You will collaborate closely with our teams and partners to improve and secure our software development lifecycle (web and mobile applications).
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Deployment, Management & Monitoring :
- Contribute to the deployment and management of our Cloud infrastructure – UAT, Preprod, and Production
- Monitor system and application performance
- Ensure management and optimization of cloud infrastructure
- Drive initiatives, improvements, and interventions
- Ensure implementations comply with FinOps best practices
Automation & Integration :
- Master the group’s DevOps toolbox
- Design and maintain automation scripts for deployments
- Ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Cross-Team Collaboration :
- Work with development teams and partners to understand and implement their infrastructure needs
- Engage with business teams from the definition phase of new products and services to anticipate infrastructure requirements
Continuous Improvement :
- Propose and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency and optimize costs
- Maintain system and process documentation
Incident Management & Support :
- Respond to incidents and technical issues
- Act as a point of contact with relevant partners
- Participate in on-call duty according to a rotation schedule
Who are you?
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Google Cloud Professional certification (Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent) or Kubernetes (CKAD, etc.) is a plus
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Public Cloud Engineer role
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production management: incidents, monitoring, changes, on-call duties
- Strong expertise in managing critical incidents and problem-solving, including communication and post-mortem analysis
- Proven experience managing cloud application infrastructures
Technical Skills
Required:
- Expertise in cloud environments and tools, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience on one of the three major public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure)
- Proficiency in Kubernetes orchestration: node and pod autoscaling, Operators, Helm (chart creation and advanced usage), RBAC, storage
- Experience with Terraform for automated infrastructure management
Preferred:
- Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud SQL, Bucket, Memory Store, IAM, Secrets, CMEK, etc.)
- Experience with ArgoCD (a strong asset for the role)
- Use of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Knowledge of MySQL database administration
- Experience with GitLab-CI
- Cloud and container security best practices
- Strong knowledge of Linux environments, particularly containerized
- Scripting skills: Shell, Python
