The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Account Management, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex, profitable and strategically important merchant customers. The successful candidate will help drive growth across the portfolio and will need to work with numerous external parties including card schemes, hardware providers, gateway providers and more to create frictionless, cost effective and reliable payment experiences. These are very demanding roles suitable for high energy, results focused candidates looking to establish a track record or build on their profile in payments.
Your responsibilities include:
- Manage and expand customer’s existing acquiring solution ensuring ongoing profitability through portfolio review, advisory reviews and re-pricing activities where required
- Proactively develop key high value customer relationships
- Apply solution-based sales approach to achieve customer outcomes
- Develop & maintain your expertise & awareness of key economic trends impacting the industry and share insight across the customer portfolio
- Inform your clients concerning all questions they have concerning electronic payments and find solutions to more complex questions and situations your client may have
- Develop & manage strong internal relationships with ANZ Corporate & Institutional Banking Teams and become a highly valued and trusted product specialist for these teams
- You will be measured on sustainable growth, customer satisfaction and retention
Qualifications and Skills:
Our ideal candidate will have experience in the sales process, excelling at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals. We’re seeking a self-starter with strong negotiating skills and someone with a track record of success:
- 6+ years’ experience in payments, merchant acquiring, transaction banking, or technology sales
- Bachelor’s degree or similar level by experience
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, virtual, and organisational skills
- Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce
- Experience closing complex deals
- Ability to analyse business opportunities and read situations well
- Strong networking skills.
