Mission

 

SRE is responsible for ensuring that the cloud infrastructure used to host Worldline solutions delivered « as a Service » is available, reliable, efficient and resilient. Working closely with DevOPS and OPS, SRE provides guidance and expertise to ensure a smooth bridge between Build phase and Run phase.

 

Accountabilities

 

Develop systems that increase Reliability & Performance:

  • Identify all actions that should be done on the platform
    • To prevent technical debt, weakness such like single point of failures, complex solutions when simpler ones exist,
    • To ensure an easy and early detection of problems,
    • To ensure performance (capacity, response time, overload management, etc…),
    • To ensure the adequation of the databases, their content, their interfaces,
    • To ensure traceability of events, availability of data required for investigations,
    • To ensure monitorability,
    • To prevent shortage of resources,
    • To prevent over-consumption of resources,
    • To help in standardizing the stack, and hence increase efficiency and interoperability
  • Share the rational of these actions with stakeholders (dev, devops, ops, support team, management, marketing),
  • Take them in charge: plan them, implement them, make them happening
  • Communicate to what has been improved, on how to get benefits. Train colleagues when required.
  • Document and share platform knowledge in an appropriate format.

 

Contribute to Operations:

  • Contribute to support activities and incident management – need based.
  • Contribute to the definition of process and tool selection, providing feedbacks based on field/production experience.
  • Establish a strong link with OPS engineers, Problem and Incident Managers to make sure that engaged actions are aligned with the needs identified from field events.

 

Handle projects:

  • Take in charge business projects (deployment of systems, migrations, major upgrades, major installations, etc…),
  • Take in charge technical/technological projects (evaluation of stack, deployment of new tools, etc…)

 

Profile 

 

  • At least 15 years of experience in service delivery and operations
  • Experience of solutions exposed to external customers, delivered as a Service with 24x7 constraints, and uptime SLA of at least 99.9%.

 

Technical skills:

  • Mastering Google Cloud Platform technology and tools, proven experience in building or upgrading complex customer-facing production systems on this platform.
  • Expertise with Linux systems configuration and administration,
  • Mastering virtualization techniques, containerization, dockerization,
  • Mastering networking technologies and components (VPN, IP routing, NAT, load balancing, proxy and reverse proxy, etc…)
  • Mastering security components (SIEM, multi-factor authentication technologies, security monitoring solutions including Wazuh and WAF like Cloudflare or equivalent),
  • Mastering both SQL databases and No-SQL database technologies, as well as search engines including Couchbase & Elastic Search,
  • Comfortable with deployment automation tools and technologies (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc…),
  • Comfortable with monitoring technologies (grafana, prometeus, stackdriver, etc…),
  • Mastering scripting (Python or equivalent).

 

Other skills:

  • Comfortable both in French and in English,
  • Ability to work in a Safe/Agile team,

 

 

Keen to occasionally travel in France (on other WL sites, on data centers).
